The tea meets the vague sweetness brought on by the violet leaf in this fragrance, and it’s all balanced out with a subtle tobacco leaf note in the base.
I've decided to shorten my reviews to make them more focused and save us both some time. So, today is Gucci Pour Homme II (excellent bottle). And no, it's not discontinued. The notes include bergamot, violet, tea, cinnamon, leather, tobacco and some woods. The sheer variety of notes is impressive.
Gucci Pour Homme II was launched in 2007. The nose behind this fragrance is Karine Dubreuil-Sereni. Top notes are Violet Leaf and Bergamot; middle notes are Black Tea, Cinnamon and Pimento; base notes are Tobacco Leaf, Myrrh, Musk and Olive Tree. Im having a hard time nailing down what version I should be chasing in terms of Gucci Pour Homme II. I know there is a blue and purple colored on, but are they truly the same? Gucci Pour Homme II may not be in the top 10 scents I own, but it certainly has its place in my lineup. Its a chameleon, as its morphs back and forth between the top, mid and base notes throughout the life of the wearing. Its versatile, casual and office friendly, it could even work for a date.
